Welcome

Welcome to the home page of Ordiludus! I am a solo video game and software developer and this website is the central hub of the social media and online presence where I publish my work. My name and online handle, Ordiludus, comes from Latin "ordior" meaning beginning or rising, and "ludus" meaning game or play, and alludes to the purpose of this platform - to publish the projects I've worked on privately for many years.

My game programming projects are hobby work, mostly public and open source, and are added to and updated on no particular schedule. For updates, see the Blog page which contains series of blog posts on each of my projects.

In the early 2010s, when I started learning programming, the indie game sphere was taking off and there was a very positive and hopeful do-it-yourself culture around gaming. Inspiring stories were all around and there was no notion that AI would render a large portion of the tech industry commercially irrelevant. In my work here, I hope to bring back some small part of time and its influences if only for myself. All of the art, code, design, ideas, and stories here, while they may not be expertly crafted in all aspects or made with the clean-cut, attention-grabbing, and sterile style of the modern internet, are my own.

Even though the handle Ordiludus is fairly clear online other than my own presence, though that may change in the future, all of my posts online will bear PGP signatures which can be used to verify my identity across the web. For contact information and the PGP public key which can be used to verify these signatures, see the Contact page.

For details of my projects and links to source code, documentation, demonstrations, and releases, see the Projects page.
